ABRAHAM Abe is a 26yr old Belgian draft gelding. He was an Amish plow horse that developed a heart condition. He could no longer pull his weight and was sent to auction at New Holland PA. From there he was purchased by a kill buyer and put in a direct to slaughter pen. With the assistance of another rescue Abe was pulled from this lot. In the 4 years since Abe has thrived here with us. He spends his days tending to his girlfriend Pesto. Never more than a few feet from her, he has a new purpose in life.

BOO Boo is a 14yr old TB polo mare. Boo came thru an auction in NJ. She is a wonderful example of the polo pony: keen, athletic, quick and very tough. She spends her winters playing low goal indoor and her summers grazing.

PESTO Mimi Pesto is a 7 yr old Belgian Draft mare. She was born here at the Sanctuary to a Premarin mare named Ashlee. She had a rough start and was unable to nurse. We had to take her from her dam and raise her as an orphan foal. 1800lbs later, our moose has grown into a big strapping girl. She has gone to college and learned to drive and pull logs. She occasionally helps around the farm harrowing paddocks. More often than not she is eating, not working! These days, she is usually side by side with Abe.

MOJO
Mojo, a standard size white donkey, was found wandering a pumpkin patch in NY. His feet had not been trimmed in so long they looked like elf slippers. Despite the neglect he was sweet and friendly to us. We started work on rehabilitating him and now a few years later he is healthy and happy. He spends much of his time with one of the outside herds. Mainly because if he is in the barn we can't hear our selves think with all the braying.
